SueMyLawyer.org is not a law firm and does not practice law. The people who write and operate this site are not acting as your lawyers. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and no one here can tell you whether you have a claim.
Not a lawyer referral service.
We are not a lawyer referral service, and we are not a state bar certified or approved referral service. We do not match you with a lawyer based on any judgment about your case or about the lawyer.
No attorney-client relationship.
Reading this site, submitting a case review, or emailing us does not create an attorney-client relationship with us or with any attorney. A relationship with a participating attorney begins only if you and that attorney both agree to it, usually in a signed written agreement. Until then, do not send confidential information you would not want disclosed.
No endorsement and no merit evaluation.
We do not endorse, rank, vet, or recommend any attorney or law firm, and we make no statement about the quality of any attorney's services. We do not evaluate the merits of any claim. Whether a participating attorney contacts you, and whether they take your case, is their decision alone. You should do your own research before hiring any lawyer.
How participating attorneys pay.
Participating attorneys and law firms pay SueMyLawyer.org a flat advertising fee. They never pay us a percentage of their legal fees, and never a share of any settlement, judgment, or recovery. The fee does not depend on whether you hire them or on the outcome of any matter. Your information may be shared with or sold to participating attorneys and their agents as described in our privacy policy.
Prior results.
Any description of a case, verdict, or settlement on this site is general information about the law. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome. Every case depends on its own facts.
General information only.
Our guides explain the law in general terms and may not reflect the most recent changes in your state. Laws differ from state to state and change over time, and courts apply them to specific facts. Talk to a lawyer licensed in your state about your situation.
Deadlines vary.
Every state limits how long you have to bring a legal malpractice claim, and some allow as little as one year. When the clock starts, and whether it can be paused, depends on state law and your facts. Our deadline table gives general rules only. Do not wait to speak with a lawyer if you think your time may be running short.
State advertising rules.
Many states regulate lawyer advertising and may require disclosures or the name of a responsible attorney. Where a state requires it, the participating attorney or law firm is the attorney responsible for the content of any advertisement made on its behalf, and its name and office location will be provided to you on request or when it contacts you. Some states require us to say that the choice of a lawyer is an important decision that should not be based solely on advertisements.
